Wild Night!

Our last storytelling show at Epicure Cafe, “Where the Wild Things Are,” turned out to be a wild night of stories. With two first time tellers, a lovely lady host, lots of stories of some not so legal activities, and the great food and drink at Epicure Cafe, the storytelling night was crazy fun.

Jennifer Luu was host extraordinaire. She started the night with all the information one needs to know when coming to the best storytelling show in Virginia. Then, official business out of the way, she brought up the first storyteller of the night, Mel Pine, in his third appearance on the Better Said Than Done stage. History was a bunch of bull, in that it was about bull fighting. There was a mysterious lady, riots in the street, and all the makings of a Hemingway novel.

Following Mel was a second time teller, Kelly Wolfe. I would give you details about her not so super legal story, but then I would have to kill you. Then we brought up our first first time teller of the night. 3. 2. 1. See the thinking here?

David Supley Foxworth rocked it with the story of his bachelor party night – which was not quite boys gone wild and more like boys gone off track. The first half of the night came full circle with hostess Jennifer Luu’s story of “listening to CDs” to the point of feeling like she was going to die. You’ll have to watch the video (coming soon!) to understand.

First time teller Jason Conner came all the way from Philadelphia to share his story of IHOP and illness. I will let you figure out how those two things go together. Jessica Piscitelli talked about her younger years, back before a wild night that changed her perception of men forever. Derek Hills tried, very hard, to pop his cherry in his Halloween costume party tale. Cara Foran brought down the house, and neatly wrapped up the night, with her story of a little foray into the world of crack houses.

Storytelling makes for a great night out and this group of storytellers put on a fantastic live show. Join us on December 15th for our last storytelling show of the year, “Holiday Cheer,” at Epicure Cafe. Details here.

Special thanks to Bart Robinson for the wonderful photos and Paula Adkins for performing her duties as door goddess as only a goddess can.
