Geeks are Chic

Last Saturday night’s live storytelling show was a veritable who’s who of geeky heroes. From Nobel prize winners to caped crusaders, we heard all about the not so cool hobbies some of our storytellers keep in the closet.

Allison Kirsch started off the night with a tale of finally fitting in, through marching band. David Supley Foxworth rolled a 20 with his story of Dungeon Masters and not so magical trading of Magic cards. Chuck Na stalked and accosted his idol at a science convention.

Mattie Cohan finally found her crowd at a weekend of gaming. Len Kruger brought us back to the good old days of dating, where the lonely had to resort to answering personal ads to find true love. Jessica Piscitelli Robinson told it like it is in the real world, of comic books. Mike Baireuther tied up the night with some tricks he pulled out of his utility belt, and a story about the Dark Knight.

If you missed the show, you missed a great night of true, personal stories from some of Virginia’s best storytellers. That’s okay, we’ll be back next month.
