Better Said Than Done hosted a night of true, personal storytelling at the Walker Nature Education Center in Reston, this past weekend, as a fundraiser event for the Friends of Reston for Community Projects. In addition to raising lots of money for a great organization, the show was filled with fantastic stories about “Things You Can’t Ignore” by some of the area’s best storytellers.
Jessica Piscitelli Robinson, President of the Board of Friends of Reston and Founder of Better Said Than Done, not only hosted the show, but kicked it off with a story of one very demanding bear.
Brad Podliska went a little cuckoo with a clock purchase.
Mattie Cohan couldn’t ignore her nature calling.
Susan Gordon explained just how fierce she is for dogs.
Anne Thomas discussed the finer points of dying.
Dustin Fisher has one thing in his life he definitely won’t be able to ignore.
Miriam Nadel told a story about the local abandoned lot from childhood.
Our own star, Anna Marie Trester, discussed her peculiar reaction to meeting a few stars of her own.If you would like to learn to tell a compelling true story, our next half day storytelling workshop is this Sunday morning. Details and registration here.
