An Improvised Storytelling Show

The Better Said Than Done October show, at The Auld Shebeen, in Fairfax, Va, was a once in a lifetime experience, for the storytellers, improv troupe, and audience. We are so totally doing it again! (Probably in a year – stay tuned)

Unlike our usual storytelling shows, this one had no theme, and, in fact, had no prepared stories either. We improvised the whole show from audience input as well as playing off the performances by improv troupe Take the Fifth.

As the entire show was improvised, there was no lineup so, in no particular order, here are photos of the storytellers from our night of storytelling improv.

Shawn Westfall hosted the show and shared a story of his own.

The queen of storytelling, Stephanie Garibaldi had two inspired stories.

Improv guy and storyteller Derek Hills shared twice.

Cara Foran kept it to one story for the night, but it was an awesome one.

Better Said Than Done founder, storyteller, and usual host happy to sit this one out, Jessica Robinson still got on stage for two times the storytelling fun.

Kathy Baird, or Mrs. Westfall, if you’re nasty, shared two true stories.

The improv troupe, Take the Fifth, got in four inspired sets of improv throughout the night.

For our next show, we return to the typical format – having a theme and having our storytellers prepared with stories in advance. Might not be as “edge of your seat” exciting, but it is sure to be another fantastic night of storytelling. Happy Thanksgiving and see you on November 29th for “Leftovers.”
