Summer Success

Our premiere show at Jammin’ Java – “Summer Lovin'” – was a fantastic success.  The storytellers were great, the venue was awesome and the crowd was unbelievable.

The show started off with host Jessica Piscitelli telling a story about hiking the Grand Canyon, and the problems that arose from trying to prove just exactly how hot of a hike it was.
Amy Saidman followed up with a story of a wedding in Trinidad that makes The Hangover look like an easy prequel to a wedding.
We brought up First Time Teller Len Kruger, who killed it with a story about pornography and feminism.
Lynda Laughlin made us remember the good old days with her Great Depression era grandma and some not so fun cost saving measures inflicted on the teenage Lynda.
The audience listened in as Stephanie Garibaldi told a tale of innocence lost to the soothing sounds of Air Supply and the sexy songs of Kool and the Gang.
Dustin Fisher lost control of his gaggle of girls while running a summer camp.
Katie Kelly suffered from geek love, but figured out where to draw the line.
We counted out 850 cockroaches with Jennifer Luu, as she prepared lunch for some hungry lizards.
Adam Ruben told about every kid’s fantasy job – working at an amusement park – and how that went so very, very wrong.

Special Thanks to:

Jammin’ Java, especially Daniel Brindley, David Silberstein, Jonathan Brindley, Amy Jones, and Patrick the lighting and sound guy!
Mary Supley Foxworth for her amazing PR efforts
David Supley Foxworth for photographing the event
Capture Video, Inc. for videotaping
Bart Robinson at Dynavision|FX for our logo design and the poster  for Summer Lovin’
Paula Adkins, of Your Alter Egos, for her filing and emailing skills.
Annette Kramer Gildea for her support
Tom Croce for sharing his connections
The fantastic storytellers for their wonderful tales and for promoting the show
and, of course, the great audience, for laughing at all of us!

We sold 88 tickets, not counting the storytellers and guests, so it was a full crowd.  Jammin’ Java can fit more though, so for our next show, we’ll have to double that number.
