Recap of “What’s Up Doc?”

Our latest fundraiser was a great success. The charity organization we assembled the show for reported that they raised close to $6000. It’s always wonderful to know that we were able to help raise money for a good cause.

And, of course, the show was fantastic. First of all, I can’t say enough about how great Franklin Park Performing Arts Center was. It’s a beautiful location, the theater is great, and the staff were wonderful to work with. Better Said Than Done will definitely be back at Franklin Park!

But, of course, the best part of the event were the stories! Check out all the videos on the BSTD YouTube playlist.

“What’s Up Doc” featured fabulous stories by a fantastic group of Better Said Than Done storytellers.

Meredith Maslich started the evening off with a story about finding a lump in her breast – something no woman ever wants to experience. David Hallisey was thankfully wearing clean underwear went he went into the hospital, but there was another, darker secret the doctors discovered while he was there. Ellouise Schoettler had to get a very sick friend out of Africa – alive! Vijai Nathan had a lot of Pizzaz when she was ten. Jennifer Luu went to Hawaii and had a miserable time. Derek Hills told a story about running with the bulls. Geraldine Buckley fought a losing battle with Spanish TSA officers and her stomach. Jessica Piscitelli told about her father’s fight with cancer and how it changed their relationship. Adam Ruben wrapped up the night with what he called a “Not quite so depressing” story about riding his bike across the country.
