Last Storytelling Show of 2013

“Legendary – tall tales and family legends” was a legendary show. The storytellers were on fire. The room at The Auld Shebeen was packed with a fantastic audience, and it was a great storytelling show to end the year.

The night of true, personal stories started out with third time storyteller Ann Cavazos’ colorful tale of roller coaster horrors. Richard Barr told a story about a legendary figure he ran across working at the VA. Barbara Effron then made her Better Said Than Done debut with a story about Elvis love. Host and storyteller Jessica Piscitelli Robinson wrapped up the first half of the show with her dad’s tall tales.

After the break, Susan Gordon riled up the crowd with a partly true and partly tall tale of facing down a bear and a snake. First time storyteller Shye Gilad brought us all back to 9/11 with his story of flying an airplane on that monumental morning. Soledad Roybal returned for her second appearance with Better Said Than Done to tell a very unique family legend and Anna Marie Treser closed out the night with a touch of The Shining.

The energy in the room was amazing. the storytellers rocked the house. And we ended the 2013 storytelling season with a bang.

See you all again in 2014 for more true, personal stories in Fairfax, VA and beyond.
