The Right Storytelling Workshop for You

We have three storytelling workshops on the horizon, and are generally running one of the three at any given time. I thought it would be good to break down what happens in each workshop for anyone considering honing their storytelling skills.

Spotlight on You: Telling the story of your life $75
Next storytelling workshop on March 1, 2014.
A half-day workshop where you will learn structure, character building, and how to win the audience over. This workshop is for storytellers of all levels – never performed before or with lots of experience telling but not a lot of “training.” If you have an idea for a story, or are just thinking you want to tell a story at some point but don’t know where to start, this is a great workshop. If you have a short story that needs a little tweaking or that you can’t quite find the right approach to, this is a great workshop.
By the end of the half day, you should either have honed a story to perform, or developed a story idea that you can work on getting ready for a show.

Storytelling Show Stopper: Advanced storytelling techniques $250
Next storytelling workshop starts February 26, 2014.
Four classes, over four weeks, to help you develop secondary characters, dialogue, non-linear structure, enhanced performance skills, and stories of varying lengths. This workshop is great for the experienced storyteller who would like to take their writing to the next level, or for storytellers who are working on longer pieces.

Your Business Story: Crafting your company tale $75
Next storytelling workshop on March 8, 2014.
This is a storytelling workshop for business owners, or those responsible for messaging in the corporate or non profit world. After this half-day workshop, which focuses on how to write a compelling story, students will leave with stories to use as content for their website, brochure, or elevator speech. Stories are workshopped with teachers and other students, lending many different perspectives on your business tale.
