Storytelling improv 2016

For the past 3 years, Better Said Than Done has been merging improv and storytelling in a unique format.  In “A Night at the Improv 3,” our storytellers continued the trend by improvising true, personal stories on the spot.improv storytelling

Storytellers who played along include: Richard Barr, Peter Gorman, BN Heard, Sandra Hull, Ellie Klein, Robert Lovejoy,  Liezel Munson, Jessica Robinson and Mary Supley Foxworth.storytellers

storytelling improvBetter Said Than Done started the night by playing two short storytelling games. After this short form improv scene closed, each storyteller who was inspired volunteered to share stories they created on the spot.  improvisational storytelling

storytellerstorytellerAfter five or so true, personal stories, Anna Marie and a few of the more improv oriented storytellers played a character based improv game before we went back to the true storytelling.

And then the Better Said Than Done crew closed a great night out at The Auld Shebeen with one last game – a storytelling battle, where the audience was the only winner.

Jessica Piscitelli RobinsonA lot of fans consider our annual improvisational storytelling show the best show of the year.  Not sure what that means for all those stories I’ve written out and memorized in advance of a show but I do know that it means there will be a Night at the Improv 4.
