Party of Five

The holidays are past, the new year is in full swing, and Better Said Than Done is ready to kick off 2021 with a Party of Five! We’ve put together a fabulous quintet of storytellers who are sure to surprise and delight you. The fun starts at 8 P.M. EST this Thursday, January 14th. Tickets available here!

Latching onto the “party” aspect of this show, and lamenting all the holiday parties and delicious treats we missed out on this time around, I wanted to find out what our tellers think of when they contemplate such things. My question to them was:

What is your favorite party food, and why do you love it?

Here’s what storytellers Noa Baum, Andrea Kamens, Vijai Nathan, Antonio Rocha, and Scott Whitehair, as well as your host for the evening, Jessica Robinson, cooked up in response…

Noa Baum

Noa Baum: Favorite party food? Maybe cheese and crackers? But really I love parties and love anything that is SERVED to me since I’m always the one preparing and serving food at home. 🙂

Andrea Kamens

Andrea Kamens: My favorite party food is deviled eggs because when I made them once for a picnic with a friend, she said they were fancy grownup party food and sometimes you just want to be a fancy grownup party person.

Vijai Nathan

Vijai Nathan: Pigs in Blankets – they’re tiny, adorable and delicious!

Antonio Rocha

Antonio Rocha: I love nachos loaded with not only cheese but jalapeños peppers, olives, beans, guacamole, and more. The reason why I like it is because it has a bit of everything in it and it hits several of my taste buds at once.

Scott Whitehair

Scott Whitehair: My favorite party food is a giant tray of vegetables with a dip, because it distracts some of the other partygoers while I get a head start shoving everything else in my mouth!

Jessica Robinson

Host Jessica Robinson: If it’s a party like the parties we’re having these days – with no one around to see me eat, my favorite dish is chips and this bean dip I make. I got the recipe from a lady at a jewelry party I was invited to 8 or so years ago. Didn’t get any jewelry but the bean dip is my family’s favorite private party dish. I say private because it’s made out of refried beans, jalapeños, and lots and lots of cheese. It ain’t pretty – nor is eating it!

Now that we’ve got your taste buds going, get ready to throw on some earbuds so you can hear the wonderful stories our tellers will be serving up on Thursday. 8:00 P.M. EST start time, with ticket sales closing a few minutes before that. As usual, tickets are pay-what-you-can, with a standard suggested price of $20 and a minimum of $5 (plus a $1 handling fee). The proceeds are shared among the tellers and Better Said Than Done.

Let’s start the storytelling year off with a bang. Get your tickets now!
