Our April storytelling show at The Auld Shebeen in Fairfax celebrated the unavoidable things in life. In “Death and Taxes” Better Said Than Done storytellers shared their true, personal stories about the inevitable things in life.
Host Jessica Robinson started the night off with her story of a dog that refused to die.
Mel Harkrader Pine’s story taught the audience how to pronounce Chvolkah.
First time storyteller, and Better Said Than Done storytelling workshop graduate, Catherine Calvin told an exciting story about her mom and tax law!
In Michael Zhuang’s story, he helped a client deal with the loss of a loved one.
Cathy Smith shared stories about and letters from a friend of forty years.
Storyteller Richard Barr convinced the audience that hospitals are less helpful than you might think when dealing with an unknown illness.
Miriam Nadel took flight and dressed appropriately for her storytelling performance.
Brent Heard, also in costume, concluded the evening – an inevitable event – with a story of the inevitability of ending up in the hot seat.
Thanks as always to a fantastic audience for sharing our storytelling experience. Thanks also to The Auld Shebeen for hosting our monthly nights of storytelling. And, as always, thanks to a wonderful cast of storytellers who were willing to tell their true stories of death, taxes, and the unavoidable.
Join the Better Said Than Done cast of storytellers in our Mother’s Day/Father’s Day special – “The Mamas and the Papas” – on May 30th. For this show, we are providing childcare – but you must reserve childcare by May 25th!
